Let There Be Light
Namaste!
I hope this message finds you well, healthy and happy.
It is an exciting time of year! As fall gives way to winter, we tend to find ourselves on the go quite a bit. Traveling here, planning this or that, shopping like mad hatters and going from party to party to party…
Be sure during this time of year to make time for your self and connect to your inner light. That being said, the intentionalize thought for this holiday season is:
Let there be light.
We use light to cure our space. Especially during the holidays. This is a time of year close to the winter solstice, wherein we have the least amount of daylight of any time of year (at least in the northern hemisphere.) So this means that it is a time of year that is very dark, or very yin. So, naturally, this is a time of year that we use light to counterbalance that darkness. So whether we are talking about Halloween, Hannukah, Diwali, Christmas, New Years or Kwanzaa, light is a significant part of all these celebrations.
You might light a lamp, or menorah or kinara to celebrate tradition. You might hang Christmas lights or lots of candles. Regardless of the specific tool, you are using light in a way that “cures” the dark nature of this time of year.
Another way to spread light or good cheer is to have a party.
Celebrations are an excellent way to activate “chi.” By gathering a group of people together for merriment and good cheer, you are increasing the chi of the room that you have a party in. The laughter, the music, the sound and the joy that is created all contributes to the well being of the home or apartment or wherever the party is being held.
And it doesn’t have to be a kegger. A simple dinner party can be just as effective. So invite some folks over and shake up that chi.
